Obviously Steam and Iron has a different focus in operational planning, that I would love to see in RTW2 or 3, but there were a few notable quality of life features removed from it when it became RTW that I've seen people ask for quite frequently in RTW Is there a reason why they can't work in the new game?
Notably: -Selection of Torpedo size and quality in the ship designer -A ship log that recorded when a ship was in action, the damage it received, and the damage it dealt -An organization of the navy into fleets and divisions in the strategic game, which is the same as the fleet exercise screen
The first two seem to be fairly easy to add -The first one is already done but automatically -The second one is just a text recording of battle events that runs during the battle. Although the third one is more intensive it would be amazing if it was added as an option later on.

I would very much like to see the third one. Actually, I'd rather have something more abstract than assigning ships to divisions individually: you specify a division type, strength, eligible classes, and station, and the game automatically populates the division for you. If you select a ship in the division for refit, the game assigns a replacement, waits for it to arrive on station, and then does the actual refit. There could be an "active reserve" division type, which would act as a holding point for ships not otherwise assigned, and the game would search active reserve divisions in order of proximity when trying to assign ships to divisions, then work its way down the reserved and mothballed lists if no eligible ships were found in active reserve (with a prompt to make sure that the player wants to bring the ship out of mothballs).
FS could be managed simply by keeping divisions assigned to regions and letting the game determine the specific ships, similarly with TP.
