There are four buttons for funnels and four for superstructure (St1-St4). Press the button and that piece of superstructure will disappear (or click the ... button on the left side, then left-click on the deck and the funnel will move to that new position).
You can have 4 pieces of superstructure. Each can be a line (check the box by Line) or a solid (uncheck the box). Click the button, then left-click where you want the structure to start and click again to form the side. Each piece can have up to 10 points, and what you draw will be mirror-imaged on the other side.
As an example... click all 4 superstructure buttons to clear everything off. Now click button St1, left-click somewhere on the left half of the deck, move to the next point (a line will extend) staying on the left side of the deck, left click to set the point and so on. When you are done, right-click and a solid box will form. Repeat for St2-4, but notice that if they overlap, 1 will be on bottom and 4 on top.
Feel free to PM me if this isn't clear, or if I misunderstood the question.

Very glad to be able to help. Once you do it a few times, it's easy.

Has anyone had any luck with "Large Light Cruisers", Courageous-style Battlecruisers, essentially? I'm considering two or three of these in my March 1909 A-H game. Everyone else is still building garbage 13"(-2) abominations barely capable of 26kts on a good day. Standard budgets, I think, but I did check varied tech, though I still don't know what exactly I've rolled for it (if anything?). Risks must be taken to win, you know!

In one game as italy i decided to build some Duetchland ships to their real life displacement, guns, speed, and armor.
They went pretty well so long as a bigger ship spawned in with them or i had multiples of them. The pros were cheap, and provided extra fire power that could do something. Cons, could be taken out by smaller ships or nearly anything in a 1 on 1 fight. The armor was so thin 5 or 6in guns of that time could pen it

Congratulations, you've made something that the Austrian/Spanish Mini-Bs can look at and say "at least I'm not that". The Austrian AI apparently felt inspired by what I did:

Very glad to be able to help. Once you do it a few times, it's easy. Yeah after the first 15 minutes or so I was wanting to give up, but stuck with it and it soon clicked. No, but I often build build some Deutschlands with 6 12 inchers or 8 11s in quads on 20,000. Pricey, but the size allows them to be well armoured with one assigned to each region. I had a pair of my 11in quaders sink a 37,000 ton 10x15in battleship that was escorting a convoy I attacked at night. Made repeated hit and runs to minimize damage and would reattack as they ran to catch up with the convoy until it as really on fire and the hull got holed allowing me to torp her. Looks to be a standard opening generated B from A-H to me. Played with them backed up by some British build proper Pre-dreads and was surprised how well they stood up to normal sized Italian Bs.

I thought Austria didn't normally go smaller then 11 inch main guns?

I've had games where all of Austria's starting battleships were armed with 3-4 9in guns.

Hey guys after watching TortugaPower start up a new Japan game I decided to do the same as I've only played them once and I had some great memories from doing suprise attacks. So here is my fleet at present The star is my french Built Richelieu Class: Built 1900, armed with a pair of early French 12 Inch guns front and aft and a boat load of secondary weapons. This although classed as a CA is a Heavy CA in my mind and so far has been able to destroy every cruiser its encounted and has tangled with a rather weak designed French battleship in 2 battles thus far nearly destorying it with weight of fire however had to return to port for more ammo. Next up is my Heavy Raider Naniwa Class. Again this is another 1900 French built ship that is destorying all it encounters in a 1 on 1 fight. Currently loving this ship as they've preformed above my expectations and I know whenever I see it enter combat it'll destory its target. At the other end of the spectron we have the Yaeyama Class Light Cruiser. This is my cheap as chips all purpose light cruiser design I've been using in my last 6 games, they always perform well in their intended cheap raider role but I've seen them take down ships twice their size in 1 on 1 fights(rarely though) and they work amazing in packs. However they're extremely light armored and thus can only take a handful of hits before having to withdraw from combat or risk being sunk. Will continue in another post as I've reached my 3 attatchment limit with this one.

So for a change of pace I've decided to try out a new design which has yet to enter service but are nearing completion. I've called them "Cargo ships" which are 2100ton CL's that are even cheaper then my other light CL design but not by much though. This is more of a fluff ship then anything else but will still serve a purpose as a raider. Finally an amusing thing that happended that I didn't really notice till now. At war start with france I was still building 1 ship with them, they of course took it for themselves however to test something I tried to build 2 more ships with them. The results were they took the order but then took the ships as well. Turns out the AI will use these ships against you in your war once they're completed as I came across a ship which I thought orginally was just a counter to my heavy design but turns out IS one of my ships lol. It was my lighter designed Heavy cruiser that was more of a cruiser counter then its bigger brother which was a all purpose ship. I wasn't expecting them to really use my designs but they did and its the first time ive seen this happen lol

All big guns? Superfiring turrets? All or nothing armor? One out of three isn't that bad. The question isn't "Why" but rather, "Who will stop me."

Hold! What you are doing to us is wrong! Why do you do this thing?

Is this better? I decided to focus on the idea that future gun battles will revolve around plunging fire. To this end I have decided to maximize rate of fire and deck protection. Tiered armament has been stripped in favor of a more conventional dreadnought approach. Considering stripping belt armor to increase the deck protection, or make it faster so it can control the range of any engagement.

That is certainly an interesting battleship design. Do you get good reliability from the quad turrets?
