Basically this stems from me wondering why Germany cant have any interactions with A-H. Now the reason for that is obviously that the game only allows for 6 opponent nations, and the current 6 are all more relevant than A-H. This also prevents me from adding additional custom nations, lets say the South American dreadnaught runners, since I would necessarily have to drop one of the countries as a potential adversary/partener.
The 90,000 ton displacement cap is frustrating for similar reasons of it being an arbitrary limitation. I was hoping to get really dumb and create some absolute monster battleships, only to find I cant even create a proto-Nimitz with the current hardcoded displacement cap. Confusingly my dockyards actually could be so insanely overdeveloped they could actually build such monstrosities, but the games code says no.
If one or both of these are implausible changes due to coding restrictions I understand, although I would be interested to know more about the specifics out of pure curiosity. On the other hand, if it is mostly/entirely a UI restriction I think the game could easily be adjusted to support this functionality, and even if the team doesn't themselves modders, possibly including myself, should certainly be given the opportunity to hammer out the necessary adjustments.
