When we do CZ detection, do we still modify the dice for such things as Weather, Crew Quality, Anechoic Coating (Active), Across Layer etc? It would seem logical but the example in 5.5.6.1 states the weather is Good but ignores that modifier.
Also both detector and target must be in "Deep-water" hexes. The GIUK Gap map shows Shallow, Deep and Extreme categories so does the "Deep" requirement mean in a Deep or Extreme hex (ie not shallow) or in an Extreme hex which seems more restrictive?

1) Sonar CZ detection is subject to all normal modifiers to determine the net detection range.
2) The target must be in a 'Deep' or 'Extreme' depth hex, CZ detection will not work against targets in 'Shallow' hexes.

Thanks for your guidance on both issues.
