Just want to quickly resurrect this thread by saying that this mod still seems to be working on 1.22.
Also does anyone know how to make A.I. designs that they will use because I've been thinking of resurrecting this mod with new A.I. CA and CL designs.

How do make designs that the A.I. will use? Take a ship design file, save it as a *.tdf file with the naming convention [Ship Type][Decade Number][Nation][Design Number], and place it in Data\IDes. - [Ship Type] is mostly the letter code for the ship type in game, though note that all battleships - predreadnought, dreadnought, superdreadnought, and fast - use the B letter code and corvettes use the MS letter code from RTW1 rather than the KE letter code used in RTW2.
- [Decade Number] is the first digit of the decade in which the design nominally fits: 0 for the '00s, 1 for the '10s, 2 for the '20s, 3 for the '30s, 4 for the '40s, 5 for the '50s, and 6 for the '60s.
- [Nation] is a letter code (usually the first letter of the nation name) denoting which nation should make use of the template: A for Austria-Hungary, B for Great Britain, F for France, G for Imperial Germany, I for Italy, J for Japan, R for Imperial Russia, U for the United States, and X for any state. C and S are probably for the Weimar Republic and the Soviet Union, respectively, though I haven't checked to be sure. - [Design Number] is a single-digit ID number for the design.
Thus, B2B0 would be a British battleship template for the 1920s while CA5X4 would be a generic heavy cruiser template for the '50s.
It would be a good idea to back up your IDes directory before making changes to the templates.

I was assuming that they wouldn't have nation-specific templates since they're otherwise implemented as custom nations, Chin China does not appear to have nation-specific templates, and I don't know of anything in the data files that would tell the game that C and S templates go to the CSA and Spain (or, more generally, associate a custom nation with a letter code for national templates - especially since it looks like it doesn't just assume the first letter for the nation code, as Great Britain uses the B templates rather than the G templates and Chin China does not appear to make use of the C templates). Also, ten letter codes for the ten non-custom states made sense, intuitively, even if two of those states are technically repeats (Weimar Republic and Imperial Germany; USSR and Imperial Russia), whereas there are currently eleven or thirteen playable powers in the unmodded game if you include custom nations, depending on whether you count the Weimar Republic, Imperial Germany, the USSR, and Imperial Russia as two or four states.

Thanks seawolf, you don't need to bother with the AH, French, German M and Q and the Netherlands designs as i have all info needed to make them.

Just wanted to pop in and say I think some information from earlier was wrong. It appears that the decade numbers 0-3 instead correspond to half decades from 1900 to 1920, and that decades 4-6 cover from the 1920s to the end of the game
