First, I hope to be in the right place. That big thread on the top says to use the main thread instead, but that very one seems to be the only main one?
Me confused
Anyway, so here I go
1. Could there perhaps be a button to open the gun-stats screen, perhaps with a drop-down list to select the caliber, inside the game, so I don't have to open the design window every time I want to check something? In an ideal world, I'd like there to be an in-game table (Excel-ish) that has all the calibers on the left and all the pen-values on the top (or vice versa)
Something like this.
2. Perhaps display the base-requirement value for a design in either the design-screen or in the ship's stats screen because I have no clue how many ships I can send to, say, Tsingtau before I am above my base's capacity. Along that line, how about adding a column in the base- and/or area overview, showing how much of the base capacity is currently used?
3. Would it be possible to split the "ships sunk" screen so one part shows the ships I lost and the other what ships I have sunk? I mean the data is all there in the Almanac, so that shouldn't be all that difficult (says the guy who has no clue about programming )
4. I like to build coastal batteries from the map and having the "coastal fortification" window pop up ever single time I do this is kinda annoying. Perhaps we could stay on the window we started on before we order the battery build? This goes also for building ships/subs, which jumps you to the "ships under construction" and "submarines" window, respectively. I believe the game should _always_ stay on the window you are on, when you give an order like this.
5. Could the "All reserve" button ignore ships currently working up, similar to the "Mobilization" button? I kinda like my crews to get to fair, before being put into reserve (or do they still work up, even on reserve? In that case, ignore this)
Well, that's about what I came up with over the last couple of weeks.

Research menu, Naval Guns tab, double-click on a caliber which you have at -2, -1, 0, or 1 quality. Not sure that that's really much easier than opening the Ship Design menu and checking the gun statistics there, though, and it only lets you look at calibers which you can build domestically whereas the Ship Design menu will allow you to look at both domestically-available calibers as well as any caliber available through overseas construction (note that the gun statistics will use your AP shell technology when displaying penetration data regardless of whether the gun is foreign or domestic).
Ships will only maintain a crew quality of Poor if they're in Mothballs (MB); ships in the Reserve Fleet (RF) will go to Fair while ships in the Active Fleet (AF) will go to Good, though if I recall correctly crew quality improves from Poor more rapidly in the Active Fleet than in the Reserve Fleet.

That's why I'd like a nicely organized table that lists _all_ the guns at the same time Obviously I'm only talking about the guns _my_ country has developed.
Thanks for clearing the reserve fleet thing up.
Oh, and I got another suggesting, since i just started a game as Japan.
So I got my first surprise attack. I saved at the very start of the battle and reloaded it some 5 times now and I am close to rage-quit the game. Why, you ask? Because my destroyer Captains are bloody idiots. Tasked with racing into the Russian anchorage in Port Arthur (you know, that whole Samurai, death or glory thingy) they race in - and as soon as they spot a ship, they turn around and drive in circles with their thumbs up their behind - until the enemy ships have had enough time to get under way, then they make a halfhearted torpedo-run, only to abort it again half way in and then leave.
So, my suggestion is this:
Can I get a way to switch from Admiral/Rear Admiral mode to Captains mode in-battle just for surprise attacks or do I have do forget about ever playing Japan again to keep my blood-pressure down? P.s. yes, I could play in captains mode from the get go, but I kinda like the restrictions Admiral/Rear Admiral mode puts on me.

@hawkaye
I would suggest set captain mode in peacetime and after the first month of war you can switch to different level.

That's a very good idea, thanks!
