Ahh yes, Avalon Hill... Jutland, War at sea, Victory in the Pacific and of course Bismarck. Off topic but I still get out B17, Queen of the Skies....

I remember playing a round-table of the 1984 NBA playoffs using Avalon Hill's "Pro Basketball" game...in the final game, with the series tied 3 to 3, Larry Bird made a final-play shot that won the game for the Celtics by 1 point. Being a big Celtics fan it was quite awesome, we were all stunned by the finish. Good times!

I remember playing Jutland with my friend on the floor of his room in the barracks. It was great but its seems that every time we got going good, the alert siren would go off and we had to head to the site and play war for a couple of days. It was as if they were watching us. But the game was fun.

I was quite fond of Victory Game's "Carrier". Not as old as the AH classics, but I think it handled some of the complexities of WW2 carrier ops quite well.
Plus the sort of glee when you "surprised" the Japanese ships on occasion and got to make your attack against minimal CAP, little AAA, and got a bonus to damage rolls on their carriers due to catching them with fueled/loaded planes in the hangers.
