1900 start Italy Default selection of start options Issue: Am encountering and sinking AH destroyers during coastal raids. Presumably are on patrol status since they are not escorting enemy main force. They are listed as sunk in the battle results screen (see below). However, they are not removed from the enemy fleet roster. What were you doing when the bug occurred? Results of fighting coastal raid on the AH coast. What did you expect to happen and how was the result you saw different than you expected. I expected the AH ships to be removed from their fleet thus reducing their available fleet and aiding later efforts. Can you describe how to reproduce the bug? Have seen this occur in at least three coastal raid scenarios in this game; e.g. at this point I've sunk a few particular AH destroyers at least two or three times. What version of the game were you playing? v1.22 Supporting screen shots:

This extends to enemy corvettes as well since the almanac currently shows at least six corvettes that the attached battle results picture indicates were sunk.

Small vessels used for "background" forces on either side in a battle will sometimes include ships from other regions, and I think I've previously seen or heard that these are not permanently sunk if lost in battle. I'm not sure if it's a bug, or an attempt to reduce player micromanagement. In the latter case, the logic would be something like this:
It would suck if it was too easy for the player to end up being able to lose victory points for having insufficient forces in theater for a battle just because an AI-controlled patrol force couldn't be filled out with destroyers or minesweepers because the player had left a few too few ships in a colonial region. So we'll pull ships from other regions to fill out those forces. But now we have the potential for the player to lose ships to a battle in a region where he had deliberately avoided stationing them. So when we draw small vessels from other regions for background forces, we won't have them be permanently lost if sunk.

That might be an expressed reason.
However, this is AH's home region and they have no colonies. Some cruisers in other regions acting as raiders.
And for the most part Italy doing coastal raids on the AH coastline where these patrolling ships are appearing is the only battle they are accepting for the most part. If the AI needs to fill out their patrol roster for the battle with "KE patrol ship" (which are not roster ships) then I wouldn't have a problem with it since they are there, but not a major threat. Seeing 1700t fleet destroyers in coastal night actions where I sink the same 3-4 DDs multiple times is what drew my attention since as patrollers they are "immune" whereas if they were part of the AH Battle Force in the scenario they would be at as much risk as my ships.
