When I launch the game no matter if 1.00 or 1.22 version for some reason I'm unable to use design new ships function or redesign ships I already built. The window with the design screen doesn't show up. Spec of my pc: CPU - AMD Ryzen 2600X RAM - 32GB DDR4 GPU - RTX2060 OS - Windows 10 Pro Version 2004 Game is installed on drive C.

Just a quick thought... What permissions does the NWS2 folder have? IIRC, it needs the user to have read/write and modify rights...

I run the game with admin permissions so it should be able to read and write as it needs to. Like if it had issues with read/write it would have issues with other things/wouldn't start, at all.

draken I have noted that sometimes (not often, but sometimes) if the game is installed into the "Program Files" folder it can have issues - what path/folder is the game installed to?
Also, try running the game *without* admin permission...see if that makes a difference. I know it sounds odd, but I have seen at least one report of that making a difference.

The path I use is C:\\NWS\Rule the Waves 2.
I ran both with admin permission and without the game and it both didn't work.
I found what causes the bug. The game dislikes multiple monitors. I use 2×24 1080p + 32 1440p. I disconnected the 24 1080p ones and the screen showed up.

First, try bouncing your system and then running the game. After that, if it doesn't work, go into your startup apps in the system settings and see what is starting up. You might have another application that is using a lot of memory. I don't think this is it, but this whole issue is a process of elimination. If the window doesn't pop up then either the application can't find it but then you would get a message or the application has been corrupted. You might need to completely uninstall it, clean the register and the drive, then reinstall it from the first version to the last.

I edited my post and the cause is multiple monitors. Game for some reason gets confused by them. I run 3 monitors due to work from home needs, i disconnected two of them and left my primary connected. Turned on game and design screen is there.

Good work. I think it struggles with resolution more than anything. Two of my monitors run 1080p, primary runs 1440p.

I don't use multiple monitors, but I've found that a number of things can cause the design window to end up behind the main window, and I think I've seen reports from other users that this issue, or something like it, can happen with multiple monitors.

I disconnected 1080p, i have design screen. I have disconnected 1440p. I also have it. I tried reconnecting the disconnected monitor and the game crashed when clicking the design button. So I don't think it's that the screen was hidden somewhere.

I think I could fix this. Is the design screen the only window affected?
