One thing I have not seen discussed very much in this forum is Easter Eggs and other secret things hidden in the game. Anyone who has seen one can share. I'll start with one you might have seen on the humorous moments thread:

I'd submit that hybrids (Flying deck cruisers, and hybrid battleship-carriers) are basically Easter Eggs...

I think there is a reference about the French and bread in one of the event choices. Though I do not remember the exact words used.

I've found one! If you try to look at the ship files of another nation in the designer, it reprimands you for "sneaky spying" lol

I had $1m 'mysteriously disappear' from my budget as China. Wouldn't call that an Easter Egg since it is part of their "Endemic Corruption" perk (check the nation description in the Almanach)

Not an Easter Egg, but interesting- I got a notification as Germany that two of my CVs had collided in the darkness while entering port. I believe they ended up w/ minor damage on the results screen. Has anyone else seen this?

Has anyone else seen this? Yes, though not specifically with CVs. I have also seen groundings while entering port in darkness or bad weather, with similar results.

Most of the Easter eggs in the game are of the "Humorous flavor text for documented events/game mechanics" variety, and many require some knowledge of the history of the period to catch. There's not so much of the "out of place objects/events that appear under specific circumstances" variety, because of the general genre of the game. It tries to treat the facts of the period as seriously as possible, but it has no qualms about satirizing the human dynamics.
Then there are the "amusing but unintended" mechanics of the game, which aren't strictly easter eggs. Every once in a while a teleportation bug shows up in battle, where ships suddenly end up thousands of miles out of place, and perhaps inland. On the not a bug side of the unintended mechanics are the hybrid battlecarriers, which are ships that could have been built, but probably would not have been practical to actually operate, and so would normally have been excluded by the devs in the ship type rules, but seem to have slipped through the cracks.

When you get the "ships of a friendly nation visit your port" event and Great Britain is the visiting nation, one of the options (I think replacing the "neutral" option) is "They look nice, but I wonder if they might have some hidden flaws..." Which is kinda funny. Not that much of an obscure thing, but in the spirit of the thread, I think.
