When did you start the game - 1900 or 1920?
1900
What nation were you playing?
US
Were there any start options that were not the default?
Largest possible navy
Player design starting fleet
Describe the issue in detail.
My carriers have started showing up in tactical battles with flying boats instead of torpedo bombers. The same squadrons show as torpedo bombers in the monthly turn report - "Air Group Management". In the "Aircraft Type" report there are two types named the same, one a flying boat and another a torpedo bomber.
What were you doing when the bug occurred?
Fighting a tactical battle
What did you expect to happen and how was the result you saw different than you expected.
I expected to see torpedo bombers, not flying boats on my carrier
Can you describe how to reproduce the bug?
See below.
What version of the game were you playing (v1.00, v1.01, etc)?
v1.22
Started a tactical battle and discovered my CV was carrying Flying Boats instead of torpedo bombers. Not good. I have tried to attach files.
After investigating I am still not sure what is going on. I exited from the battle via Task Manager rather than saving, then went to the last monthly save (just prior to clicking the "TURN" button. Here's what shows in various reports:
It is September 1951. The aircraft type report shows both a Flying Boat (1932) and a Torpedo Bomber (1947) type named "Brewster Buccaneer B". They both show 0/0 under In Service column. The Flying boat shows 1333 On Stock, while the Torpedo Bomber shows 0 On Stock.
Multiple carriers show many squadrons of "Brewster Buccaneer B" Torpedo Bombers. The carrier in the tactical battle (CV Antietam) has two squadrons at 16/16 strength. However, I do note that all the squadrons on that ship are 16/16 and every other type (Fighter and Dive Bomber) has a maintenance cost of 204 per squadron while the TBs have a cost of 306 per squadron. Other carriers with Republic built TBs have maintenance costs of 204 for a 16 plane TB squadron, but those with Buccaneer B TB have 306 (it isn't limited to 1 carrier). Do these cost differences indicate multi-engine vs single engine aircraft?
I have changed the names of some aircraft models and may have inadvertently given two the same name. If that was going to create problems should there be something to prevent or warn a player?
