For the love of god can we please get rid of the DRM, I honestly spend more time having to reactivate the game instead of playing it.
Every time i update this game and then have the balls to cough in its direction i have to then reactivate it, which then needs me to send a email and then go through the process of getting grilled by the dev asking me why he has to keep sending me reactivation codes.
So for the love of god please remove this steaming piece of crap code that is the DRM, it's hurting the honest buyers more then the pirates, since it only takes me less then 5 mins to find & download a no DRM exe.

I've never had to request a new code after updating although I do wish the DRM was removed.
I seem to recall NWS saying they would remove it after a time but I guess the decision is theirs to make.

Invasive DRM has always been an obstacle to legitimate use, and this form is about as invasive as it gets. That being said, as a software developer myself, I can keenly relate to the developer's desire to ensure that he's getting paid at the end of the day. Hey, at least it's not Denuvo One can look past the DRM and see a great game behind it.

I agree, i have several computers and i begin to sweat thinking of all i will have to do to carry the game on holiday.
(In addition of the tweeting of my kapersky antiVirus not to delete the game on sight).

Well i use mods, so to update i have to reinstall using the 1.0 RTW2 exe, and then after that i always seem to have to reactivate.

Look i understand i want to get money for your product, but when it affects the honest buyer more and not the pirate then whats the point. Like i said it only takes me 5 mins to find a no drm exe

If anything it just shows how broken the DRM system is.

I support DRM for niche games like this. Of course the DRM could be a lot better than it is.

I've never had to reactivate it despite swapping files around for mods very routinely, sounds somewhat odd that you do.

I support DRM for niche games like this. Of course the DRM could be a lot better than it is. Especially for niche games like RTW, DRM makes absolutely no sense whatsoever IMO. For shovel ware like EA's and Ubisoft's stuff there is at least an argument to be made that it would be pirated by many casual players, because most of those aren't really invested in the game or the company. For a niche game with a much larger proportion of die-hard fans that want the people who made the game to keep making games, this is, again IMO, not something to worry about. Would the game be pirated by some people? Sure. Will those people buy instead of pirating the game now, because there i DRM? I highly doubt it. Bottom line: Games like RTW don't have the mass appeal to be the target of massive piracy but rather have a very dedicated and loyal fan-base which is more than willing to support the people who create the game(s) they like and want more of. And those who _do_ pirate a game like RTW wouldn't buy the game anyway. P.s. This is the main reason I buy anything I can at GOG, because I can DL the game and install and play it on as many devices I want, whenever and wherever I want with no internet connection whatsoever. Funny how those games apparently aren't pirated to high heaven and all the devs who sell their games on GOG haven't filed bankruptcy already.

I agree with Hawkeye, while I love these games, randos are not going to go out and steal this type of game. Most people couldn't read the text in this, there are words with more than 4 letters. And we are all smart enough to know that if we steal the games then they go out of business and no more naval crack for us.

hawkeye decourcy2 IIRC the reason that the devs implemented DRM was something like 50% 2/3 of RTWI players pirated the game (Devs correct me if that number's off). Hell, every week or so someone shows up on the official discord (Or a related one) and asks how to pirate the game

Really? Okay, my bad, I assumed we were all intelligent adults here but seemingly even this kind of game collects scum.
