with the discussion being about possesion and my own annoyance at the moment could it be possible to set the areas our ships are built in I point at the Usa and its 3 home zones and the British Empire and its colonies shipyards such as the cockatoo shipyards in Australia which produced ships for the british as well.

How does one join the beta though? It's been almost 2 years since I last played this game and kinda felt left out with no more large-scale updates but this happens and I'd be eager to have a chance to try it out.

Half inch gun turret armor so that it counts as 'enclosed gun mount'. This is important mostly for people aiming to create historical top view for WW2 Era Destroyers.

Are modern missile systems simulated in the current beta ? if they are could you maybe give us some snippets of how they work and how they will work when the DLC comes out

Will it be possible to automate airplane development? Like. I am shocked that no ne has made a mod with aircraft/missiles removed yet Delete aircraft research from Data/ResearchAreas2.dat and then delete all AI CV/CVL ship design from Data/IDes. Now you have aircraft free gameplay

Could you modify the effects of the political event of the separation of Britain and Ireland. The way this is modeled in the game has serious detriment to Britain when fighting in the Irish Sea and Eastern approachs, particularly once airpower becomes more important.
Currently, in RTW2, once Britain and Ireland separate the whole of the island of Ireland becomes lost to the British player. Yet historically under the 1921 Anglo-Irish Treaty Northern Ireland, Ulster, remained part of the United kingdom, with its bases and significant industrial facilities around Belfast, while Britain also retained naval and air bases at Berehaven, Queenstown (modern Cork /Cobh) and Lough Swilly in the south. These bases were later sold to Eire / The Free State under the 1938 British-Irish Agreement, much to the chagrin of the Royal Navy who had learned the hard way about trade warfare, airpower and submarines.
Could I suggest the in game political events are modified and in the event of Eire / The Free Sate achieving independence allowing the UK to retain (a) Belfast and (b) Berehaven, Queenstown and Lough Swilly. A second event could trigger the loss of the bases in the south (though not Belfast), the prestige of the naval ledership might be a modifier in this reflecting their lobbying strength at that time.
Currently Berehaven and Lough Swilly are not represented in the game. They could be added, but since that might not be cost effective labour we could work arround by amalgamating Lough Swilly with Belfast (though Lough Swilly is farther west), and Berehaven with Cork (also further west), we might then add limits on what can be done at the Cork base.
The effect being that on the first political event Britain retains Ulster, with the base at Belfast, and the use of Berehaven/Cork (perhaps with restrictions); while a second event might lead to a loss of Berehaven/Cork.

What can we expect to see for game start years? Obviously going to have an 1890 start, but what about others. I could imagine 5 different start points being pretty good as to what era you want to focus on 1890 - Steam and Steal pre-dreadnought era 1905 - Dawn of the Dreadnoughts 1920 - Reign of Super Dreadnoughts and Rise of Airpower 1935 - Dominance of Airpower 1950 - Missile Madness
Each start point being roughly equivalent to the historical beginnings of major technological shifts in naval warfare.
Also would like to know if 1890 will be the only start date to allow us to manual build legacy fleet in the same vein as now where you can only manual build in 1900 starts but 1920 starts can only be autogenerated. Or will be able to manual build at all starts possibly done in chunks, eg a 1920 start, phase one design ships and build ships from 1890-1895 with base tech, phase two 1895-1900 with a handful of random tech upgrades, and so on until you reach 1920 with your most modern tech to design ships to be currently under construction.
