The British , Americans and Germans all shared the love of Airships and every single nation gave up on them as they were by the mid 30's vastly and totally inferior to heavier than air aircraft. Expensive, prone to accidents , suicidally vulnerable to heavier than air aircraft, too slow to run so making them effective for anything except scouting and very limtited ASW in theatres with no enemy aircraft would be a better addition to Total War Warhammer than a realistic naval simulation as they would be as reaslistic as a greater Daemon.
As much as RTW is about historical traits, it's also about 'what-if'. And quite a few were used in WW2, for mine-sweeping, Search and Rescue, and anti-sub patrols. The K-class being the most notable, and they weren't retired until the late 50's. In fact they were so well regarded for their duties that the US ordered even more for the Korean War.
The UK considered using blimps in WW2 for naval duties like they did in WW1 and part of the interwar era for the same roles, but focussed those resources on inland blimps instead. Which were surprisingly resilient to the guns of other aircraft.

I have no huge objection to LAC in ASW roles in places like Mid atlantic and American coast, their viability in the North Sea for instance I am deeply skeptical of. But Practical Zeppellin carriers and Missile platforms those are Steampunk fantasy , If we have Girl Genius the wargame I will demand air ship battleships but not until then .LAC had zero survivabity in the face of fixed wing fighters after 1916-17 hence their withdrawal from bombing attacks on the UK in favour of fairly marginal bomber aircraft. The only UK LAC (loosely) in WW2 I am aware of are Barrage balloons and the balloons used to attack power lines in Europe (and they were weather ballons with cables hanging off)

Would we be getting some official update on the progress on the DLC or how development is going this week?

Looks like this thread either goes off topic (but with very interesting posts nonetheless) or gets deader than a Texas salad bar! Which makes sense, as this is the RTW2 Expansion News thread and there are no news to discuss. I understand, appreciate and respect that the team are taking their time to ensure a high quality end product, but some kind of update on the progress and an updated (approximate) ETA would be extremely nice!

It is far above my paygrade to make suggestions to the Developers/Staff about the new RTW game, but anyway, would it be possible to present a fairly current test version to one or more of the established YouTube RTW gamers? Tortuga, RvT (Dickie) are both knowledgable enough and able to present clear, insightful demonstrations regarding the new release. This would both increase the potential customer base via their platforms and inform those of us patiently waiting of the new direction the game is taking. Tortuga and RvT both would present honest opinions and perhaps point out some things needing attention. I'm sure they'd be tickled pink to be able to help out. Just thinkin' outloud.

A quick heads up: I can now say that within a few days (end of next week at the very latest) we will have major news/update about the game, even including a............solid release window...

It's probably been discussed already (haven't seen it) or too late to implement but having lost another of my wonderful aircraft carriers because I couldn't stop them turning into the wind (i.e. towards much slower enemy surface ships), is there already a way to stop them doing that or could it be incorporated.
A button labelled either:
Suspend all air operations
or
RUN AWAY YOU IDIOTS
-Accepting the loss of some aircraft would be preferable to loosing a carrier for no good reason
Suggestions for work round would be very welcome, apologies if this has been fixed or extensively discussed already
Thanks
