Hiya everyone, it's me again. This time with a much less important question, but it has cuaght my atention nontheless.
Just how does the bonus tech work? I would presume that it has a higher "proliferation chance", but by how much? Is it garantued for the nation in question or is it more like 99%? And on top of that, how does the research advantage work, does it decrease the point cost of techs in that area or does it earn more points?
I'm probably not the first to ask questions like this, but an answer would be greatly apreciated, or if there's a link to a thread which answers myu question that too would be great:
Anyways, hope you all havew a fantastic day!

I'm not sure if anyone PM'd you a response - so while I don't have perfect answers, I'll try my best.
Bonus tech is a tech that is, I believe, researched by the country at the appointed year with a 100% chance / success rate. What I'm not sure on is if the tech advancement consumes very little or no accumulated research points in the relevant area - manual implies points are consumed "...bonus technologies that they will research easily.". I've always gotten a bonus tech on its appointed year, but I normally have a high % of my budget set to research (10-12%).
I suspect research advantage is a low multiplication factor of points but I can't confirm at the moment. If you open a save game file you can find the research areas and points accrued. As such it should be fairly easy to open to two save games with different countries and set the research % to the same amount and then manually set the budget to the same amount and run a turn or three. If the research points are different, than you can run the math and see what the multiplication factor is - if they don't change than the necessary points to acquire the technology are adjusted.
Have a blessed day as well!
