Hopefully some of the more experienced players can provide feedback here. I'm in my first game with early-stage aviation, playing as Italy, in a war with France. I am the only nation with CVL capability, year is 1923. Once I'd developed my first torpedo bombers, I tried to deploy them at airbases, but couldn't add any of them to the airbase configuration. I assumed this was just one of those things, and that torpedo bombers couldn't operate from land. Imagine my surprise, when in a coastal battle with French forces, a squadron of enemy torpedo bombers suddenly turned up and sank one of my BBs!
So can someone help me? Is this a new bug (I'd be surprised if it's not been seen), a known bug, a "feature", or am I doing something wrong / missing something when I try to add torpedo bombers to my own airbase configuration?
Thanks in advance!

There are no restrictions on land bases; all aircraft types can use them, including torpedo bombers. Could you deploy your torpedo bombers on your carrier(s)? If not, it's probably because you didn't actually give them their development time. Once you select a model from the choices the game gives you, you need to wait for ~6 months (in-game time, thankfully ) for the design to be finalised. Also, what exactly was the problem preventing you from deploying them? Did the airbase(s) not appear in the list on the Air Groups screen, or could you not select torpedo bombers in the drop-down, or something else?

Thanks! Just knowing it was possible set me on the right path. I'd let the game auto-assign air groups when I first created airbases, so I'd never added my own air groups manually, and I'd missed that whole part of the setup. Reading through the guide to air operations on here cleared it up for me once I knew what to look for.
