tiny quality of life things:
when a player sets a ship's status (AF/TP/FS/R) it should return to that same status after repair, refit or after coming out of reserve/mothballed to reduce constant fleet micromanaging
to facilitate that it might help to be able to assign ships to TP outside of war since i don't think it really matters, and/or auto-assign TP ships to reserve when not at war and have them auto-revert to TP on the 1st turn of war
AMCs should automatically be set to 'R' status after workup since that's their primary use and i have to manually assign them to R before they go AF to keep them out of my fleet
speaking of workup i think that could use a lot more detail since right now it means nothing outside of keeping the ship out of your fleet until the crew quality hits 'fair', which is always 1 or 2 turns before they go AF anyways
also i would think there would be more issues with the first ship of any new class which would need to be worked out so improvements could be applied to subsequent hulls (if they can be worked out)
currently as soon as your ship launches if there's a problem (or a buff) you know right on ship launch, when i would think you would have to run trials first to find out the actual ship performance
there's likely a lot more to trials that i'm not familiar with since it's not my area of expertise and there's a massive amount of things that could go right/wrong when building a new ship class, but more detail in that area might make it a more meaningful decision of whether to stick with a proven ship class to get a known quantity, or to design a new ship but take the chance it might need a few crucial years to work out the kinks (or do a combination of both)
