cabalamat , rekrats , all, I believe I found the problem: a .NET Framework version issue. I compiled using .NET framework 4.7.2, and apparently you are both running 4.0. - it shows your Assembly version is 4.0.0.0 - from this article, I read that, quote, ".NET Framework and the assemblies share the same version number" There are two potential solutions: (A) ask users to install latest .NET Framework (B) downgrade my version to 4.0 I will look into (B). There was at least one thing in the later Framework that I am using, but the code is not yet so large that I can't replace the problematic items. Question: do people have any resistance to installing a new .NET Framework? (From my end, this is the simplest solution.)
Here is a link to the install:
For more about .NET Framework 4.7.2 : (it looks like it's supported on Windows 7)

I may add it to my mod manager (with your permission of course).
Of course. Anyone can rehost this file as they like. Although... It might be best to place it there only after some of these bugs are ironed out.
So I've tried it now and i get an error message, when i try to load the sac file (the <fed.txt> file is the error log):
I will look into this based on the error log (which is great, thank you). It will be helpful for me to see the savegame file that caused this crash, as well. (At your convenience, if it's not too much trouble.)
Best, Tortuga
Do you just want the .sac file or do you want the whole saved game?

Hi cabalamat , I think the issue is the version of .NET Framework installed on your machine (~80% confidence). If you know you have .NET Framework 4.7.2 or later, or otherwise don't think this is the error, sending me the .sac alone should be fine for this.
If you are using Win10, this has some simple ways to check your version:
I tried three of these (Windows PowerShell, Command Prompt, and Windows File Explorer methods) and they all worked.
It is one option to re-write the code into an older version. Are you (and using you as representative, by extension, other people as well) uncomfortable with the idea of installing a newer version?
A quick search on .NET Framework versions mentioned a few cautions for developers about upgrading on the development side. I couldn't find any instances of end-users complaining about upgrading, but there could be good reasons still hidden from me.
Cheers, Tortuga
edit: this .NET Framework is new to me from a support aspect. I think there are checks I can (and will) implement to prevent the user programs from crashing. Instead, I want a pop-up saying "you do not have the required .NET Framework version. Exiting..."

Is it possible to run more than one version of .NET on Windows? I ask because if it isn't then changing it might break something else for me.

You may want to confirm yourself. My own check suggests that "yes, you can install multiple version of .NET Framework". Source:
Edit: but you may want to see what version you're running, to confirm this is the issue to begin with! I'm interested to hear myself, as whether or not my program has a bug hangs in the balance

Hi Folks,
Have many people had success with this Mod? I tried it a few times but got repeated error messages, crashes and occasions when it seemed to just do nothing?
It's a wondrous idea BTW!

It worked for me without any crashes or stuff and I don't think I did anything special.
Sorry to not be of more help.

When moving ships from one division to another, you need to update their "Ship##InitialDivision" field accordingly. If you don't, the game keeps trying to reattach the transferred ship to its original division and eventually crashes.
