I had my last BB converted to a museum and it still shows in the almanac as me owning one BB, but I dont see it anywhere in the lists. I thought I read somewhere that you could ready and refit a museum ship back to active fleet but I didn’t find anything on search. Is that true? And am I paying a monthly naval fee for the museum ship or was it a one time fee to set it up?

Ok, thanks. I guess the museum administration won’t let the navy have their property back even in the event they are losing the war?

If you mobilize the fleet, you get the ship back.

So the mothball payment is a one time thing? That’s the advantage to a museum ship?

my impression was that you pay the mothball price every month so i never create museum ships to save $$, but i never tried it
that would be weird if you are able to mobilize a museum ship since you need to scrap it to get the option to make it a museum ship, and for me that would defeat the purpose of trying to scrap it in the first place (to get it off the books) - i'l have to try it once to see if that actually happens though

If you mobilize the fleet, you get the ship back. really? I never tried it I just tried it. I clicked the mobilize button on the UI after another nation declared war on me and all my ships went to active service, but the museum ship was still not listed. So apparently you don’t get it back. If that’s working as intended then it shouldn’t show in the almanac either, but it did. When it all started was somewhere in the early fifties and I realized my BBs weren’t fast enough and needed cheaper more expendable BCs so I scrapped all six I had leaving none left. That’s when the message came up to keep on as a museum ship. I think the wording on the option wasn’t clear enough to know whether or not it was a monthly fee or a one time fee. So that probably needs some attention Regardless, I feel like this is how it should work in RTW2: A museum ship is an honorary role a ship has earned. The monthly fee should be taken over by the state, not by the naval budget. The ship should be allowed to be reactivated via prompt, if you so desire whenever clicking Mobilize on the UI and the ship should be placed back in your active fleet, perhaps after some months of repair. The prompt message to reactivate is important because you may have other museum ships much older that you do not wish to reactivate. So consider this thread a suggestion thread Fredrik WThanks. Edit - I also would like to add that museum ships should probably have a service record attached to them, like a log or something, showing tonnage sunk, battles fought, etc... that would be something!
