So I have modded my game with the historical ship name mod, and now I can' update to 1.25 (currently 1.24), any suggestions?

I may be mistaken, but I don't think restoring unmodded files is strictly necessary; I believe simply removing the modded files would be sufficient.

Yep, if you modded your file and didnt make a backup, you lost the original file permanently.

Worst case scenario you can find the initial download info when you received them; they should still work since it's the DRM that regulates your access to the game not the files themselves. You should keep an original copy of the game moving forward to update and then reinstall mods, I also learned that the hard way.

Losing the unmodded version isn't a significant problem.

If he can’t update it means he overwrote one of the original ship name files, which means if he runs a game he has to manually name every ship, which would probably be quite annoying(especially if its an AI nation)

If you need any replacement files just let me know in a PM & I can provide them. For future use however, I do recommend you back up your game folder to keep a set of original files for updates/etc.

So after 2 months of absence for some land wargaming stuff I am back and I just removed all the files the updater tagged and will try to plug it back in afterwards And it worked, thanks guys
