We all know the excitement/dread of commissioning a new class of ships and the possibility of getting/losing that extra knot of speed. However, it has struck me that this is the only event other than the "overweight" event that can occur. I felt that a few other possibilities might liven up the game.
Engine Reliability:
•On ships with "Normal" engine priority:
◘Our ship CA Example is commissioned into the Navy! On trials, it's engines have proven quite reliable.
○ Effect: Ship engines are considered "Reliability" priority for purposes of engine breakdowns, repairs, ect
◘Our ship CA Example is commissioned into the Navy! On trials, it's engines have proven unfortunately temperamental.
○ Effect: Ship engines are considered "Speed" priority for purposes of engine breakdowns, repairs, ect
•On ships with "Speed" engine priority:
◘Our ship CA Example is commissioned into the Navy! On trials, it's engines have proven remarkably docile.
○ Effect: Ship engines are considered "Normal" priority for purposes of engine breakdowns, repairs, ect
•On ships with "Reliability" engine priority:
◘Our ship CA Example is commissioned into the Navy! On trials, it's engines have proven less reliable than hoped.
○ Effect: Ship engines are considered "Normal" priority for purposes of engine breakdowns, repairs, ect
Engine Vibrations: (I am aware that "high speed vibration" is in-game currently, but I am not entirely clear on how it works)
•On all ships:
◘Our ship CA Example is commissioned into the Navy! On trials, it's engine have produced heavy vibrations at high speeds.
○Effect: When ship is operating within 10% of it's max speed, penalty to gun accuracy is applied.
Turning ability:
•On all ships:
◘Our ship CA Example is commissioned into the Navy! On trials, the ship has been shown to be quite agile.
○Effect: Ship will turn sharper than the baseline for a ship of it's size.
On all ships:
◘Our ship CA Example is commissioned into the Navy! On trials, it has proven to be somewhat slow to respond to the helm.
○Effect: Ship will have a less sharp turn than the baseline for a ship of it's size.
Gunnery:
•On all ships:
◘Our ship CA Example is commissioned into the Navy! On gunnery trials, the ship has proven a very stable gun platform.
○Effect: Small boost to gunnery ability, especially in rougher seas.
◘Our ship CA Example is commissioned into the Navy! On gunnery trials, the ship has shown a tendency to roll excessively.
○Effect: Small penalty to gunnery ability, especially in rougher seas.
Flooding:
•On all ships:
◘Our ship CA Example is commissioned into the Navy! Damage control officers have praised the robust nature of it's underwater construction.
○Effect: Ship receivers a positive modifier to controlling flooding.
◘Our ship CA Example is commissioned into the Navy! The integrity of some watertight bulkheads has been called into question.
○Effect: Ship receives a negative modifier to stopping flooding.
Armor:
•On armored ships:
◘Our ship CA Example is commissioned into the Navy! Some officers have noted the armor layout is quite well-designed.
○Effect: Armor will be more effective.
◘Our ship CA Example is commissioned into the Navy! Further inspections have revealed a number of faults in the armor construction.
○Effect: Armor will be less effective and the ship may be more vulnerable to critical hits.
Engine Reliability:
