M/H carrying torps? As in medium / heavy loading. Are these different capability torps? Ive just not seen this before. We do have M torp capacity meaning the plane uses the longer medium range, rather than heavy, for delivery the blessed touches of happiness. I may have missed update notes. What is the M/H for the torps of torp planes meaning in terms of game mechanics?

Related I now have floatplanes FlyingBoats showing up with Torpedo listing of -/M
What does that mean?

I'm interested in the official word on this; DLC might change the dynamic as well... My understanding is an AC can only carry one torpedo, and that it is an 18" - nws-online.proboards.com/post/72131 and nws-online.proboards.com/post/81217. So I am unaware of any torpedo difference in M or H torpedo load-outs; the M / H load difference seems to only be applicable for bombs.
I believe that the -/M listing indicates that they can carry a torpedo in medium load-out only. I assume due fuel loading / max speed / climb speed requirements. I've seen that listing with PBs and MBs; I've never seen a float-plane with that capability... Do you have an unclassified screenshot you could share? Torpedo armed float planes coming from KEs, AVs or capital ships would be insane, horrifying and bordering on game breaking...

Thats all it means, they can carry a torpedo as a medium load, ergo able to go further while carrying a torpedo, same as it would be for carrying a heavier bomb as a L or M payload. An improvement over older planes that or reduced to the H range, though I too am curious about a torpedo armed floatplane, that would be a feat.

Had a typo, wasnt floatplane buy flying boat.
So M/H means 1/2 torps
Likewise the flying boat (not floatplane) is -/M not just M.
So its 0 or 2 torps?

AFAIK you select "T" for carrying a torpedo
So what is the differece in these plant ratings for torpedo
"M" vs "M/H" or "-/M"
Because if its all just one torpedo at medium load range why would you even need the syntax for the other phrases?

Well early planes are only able to fly a torpedo as a Heavy/H load, as you advance it becomes a Medium. -/M I would figure means its possible to carry a torpedo as a Light load if you had a sufficiently capable aircraft. Compare the L/M/H with the ranges, a L/Light load results in the furthest possible combat range, vice versa for the Heavy load.

Thanks for the link. Hadnt been on the forums much lately So basically its one torpedo for now but the notation was changed over for a possibly implementation of "things" and left as an internal data record of "things" related decisions. Ill go let my air crews know.
