Please add custom battle function in RTW3. Players can design, save and retrieve ships of various countries and levels in a pool, and freely choose the battle area and adjust the battle environment. I think this will be a very cool function, and can greatly increase the gameplay of the new comming game, thank you!

I think this is an excellent idea - would allow quick games for busy folks (like all of us).

I too think it would be a good idea to offer a more battle-centered mini-game as an alternative to the longer campaign. But I fear that this request, like so many others we've seen since RTW3 was announced, will exceed the ability of the developer to fulfill it. This is the kind of thing that maybe could come out later, if there's sufficient interest in it.

With a little historical research it would also be possible to set up realistic WW2 scenarios.

That's not a lot of time in which to design. program, test and bug-fix a project like this - especially when you consider there will still be bugs that need stamping on and items that need to be implemented.

If something like this was done, it'd be cool if it was something that could easily modded and shared via steam workshop - although, that may make it more work, and harder to do. It is something that could be cool. but I very much appreciate the importance of development staying focussed.

Thank you guys for thinking this was a good idea. I know it was probably a very difficult request for the Dev team, but I think this feature will greatly expand the gameplay and playability of the game, allowing players to not only reenact real battles in history, but also design a lot of aerial naval battles themselves. It's totally worth trying! Thank you very much!

In Steam and Iron, through lot of pain, you can design your own battles (they call them scenarios) and even campaigns. Unfortunately SAI has been left in the pre-aircraft era of the original RTW and haven't seen an update for years, so it is nowhere near what you are asking for. But it could be in the future, if after RTW3 the developers decide to give SAI its well overdue update and finally bring SAI2 to the aircraft carrier era allowing the reenactment of WWII scenarios (battles) and campaigns (the Med, the Atlantic, the Pacific...) and letting us also, in a more user friendly way than now, to create our own battles and campaigns. But this, at the moment is just me daydreaming

There are mods with custom battles already, though, one I know about is the last stand of Admiral Graf Spee(the panzerschiffe). So custom battles could be implemented as a library of saves loaded from a separate foldeer.

That sounds exciting, and at least it shows how it works, but I hope the developers could made this feature more comprehensive and complete, Because put a battleship You designed into any naval battle would greatly expand the freedom and playability of the game. Thanks for your remind.

May I add that we should also have the ability to use unbuilt ship designs so that we can test them out first before actually building them, and to make multiple copies of ships that we or the AI have designed. Then, we could have super hypothetical battles like: 5 Yamatos versus all of the US and RN battleships from WWI, with check boxes for: "unlimited ammunition", "no torpedoes", "day or night fighting", and "fight to the death" - meaning - no running away from the battle. I know it would be more fantasy than historical fiction, but the idea of a powerful ship like Yamato going back in time to take on everyone and change history like in the movie, "The Final Countdown", sounds like a fun scenario to me.
Anything to make the game more helpful, more enjoyable, and more replayable is a win-win in my book.

It'd make a good DLC to bring in historical scenarios and/or a scenario builder! I'd be willing to pay for that.

We (Fredrik & myself) have certainly discussed this idea in the past; if we were to re-consider this at some point, I do think it would be best to have it as a small Expansion to the main game. So, once RTW3 is out and stable this is on my list to take another look at.
Thanks.
