So the game will cover the period from 1890 to 1970 (plus extend up to 1990 with 70s tech). 80 (100) years to play with a wide array of technological eras covered. As of now in RTW2 we have game starts at 1900 and 1920, pretty obviously we will have an 1890 start, possibly replacing the 1900 start, but the 1920 start leaves a lot to desire if say someone wants to play in a missile era only game.
So the big question for me is when the jumping off points for our alternate history will begin. I suggest 5 possible points spread 15 years apart that "roughly" encompass the main tech eras we saw in our history.
1890 - Reign of Predreadnought Battleships 1905 - Dawn of the Dreadnoughts 1920 - Dominance of Super-Battleships and birth of Aircraft carriers 1935 - Aircraft Carrier Revolutions 1950 - Missile Madness
But I would like to know what the intended plan is and what yall think

I second having a couple of different start dates, I don't know if I'm going to like having to slog through the pre dread era, have always found that i desperately try to avoid wars for the first 5 years on a 1900 start.

I think this is a very good idea. It would also be improved by an option for historical fleets , but the historical fleets aspect is a trivial matter in comparison to other things.

I'm not sure Fredrik would think the extra work would be worthwhile for shaving 15 years off the other two suggested starts from what exists currently, but in a world of unlimited time and energy I would agree those starts also make sense.
