During the Cold War we see a lot of nations build frigates which can be argued fall into two categories of ship type that RTW offers that being destroyer and cruiser.
Do we know how the devs are going to handle this ship type in that I know up until the Cold War you could argue a frigate as a corvette potentially but with frigates in the Cold War having speeds and armament on par with destroyers and cruisers to me it creates this broad category. In that frigate displacements varied widely across various nations. In that you had the United States having frigates that were on par with USSR cruisers eventually leading to the reclassification of Frigates to cruisers. Which I know is past the point the game focuses on but wasn’t sure if that would make it were frigates are going to be treated more as cruisers from destroyers so we could have higher displacement frigates?

Tbh the only navy to have really big "Frigates" (at least until they stopped having 1812 flashbacks?) was the USN. I don't think anyone else called things much over 5k that? There's a flurry of "Fast AS Frigates", mostly conversions of spare WW2 Destroyers, in the fifties to try and cope with the new, high speed "Electroboot" style subs (and before Helicopters and assorted Torp carrying rockets and missiles came along) but there was a fairly clear category of "Frigates" post war that are mostly 2-3-ish kton, 25-29 knot things with a few 4-5 inches and Bofors but largely ASW leaning armament? The cold war "Destroyer" tended to be faster and more AAW focused, often getting an early SAM so it could protect battle groups from Bears etc... I'd like to be able, post WW1-ish at least, to build bigger escorts in game though. You can't really duplicate all those destroyer-escorts that existed without pretending they are just weak destroyers.
