Hi all, Given that we don't have a modding section for RTW3 yet I'll post this here, but admins feel free to move it once we have such a section. Anyway, I was converting my old nation mod for RTW3 and noticed that beside a slightly different file structure, we also have a few new fields the function of which isn't entirely clear to me and some other oddities. I know everyone is still in post-release mode, but if someone someday could provide some anwsers I would be very grateful! Anyway, here is my list of questionmarks: 1. The TurretStyle field no longer seems to work? AFAIK it should be 0=generic, 1=British, 2=German, 3=American but no matter what I pick, the game always gives me generic turrets for my modded nation. Are there other factors/files beside the BNat files for this now? 2. The BKT fields, I assume it has to do with preferential nations to invade through events...but is this really the case? 3. The PAL fields: Fields filled with port names. These seem to be filled with ports both within nations and in other nations...what does this do? 4. The IFM field...no clue what this does. 5. The SPoss fields: no clue! I guess something with Possessions, but how this is different from the regular Possession field? (like how Germany has this field filled in the BNat1890 file, but China has the Possession fields?) 6. TreatyTonnageFactor: what is the logic behind this field? This is all I could find so far, hope someone can shed some light on this once things quiet down!

BKT is the list of possible blitzkrieg targets, same as RTW2. From what I've seen so far, I think SPoss is the possessions that each country will prioritize trying to take over via normal means.

Thank you! Guesss I focussed too much on the documentation of the warinfo generator and missed it in the RTW2 files. EDIT: also found a new and fancy "Turret nation style" field in the Graphics tab in the ship designer. Nice to see you can still edit that during design and it seems there are a lot more variants now than in RTW2! Question now is: where in the files do you link the turret style to the nation?

I can address issue 1.
You won't necessarily see different turret styles when you select a different nation because not all nations have their own unique turrets. When there is not a nation-specific turret, the game will use a default turret. The default set of turrets is roughly based on the British turrets. This can also be affected by the turret era which is set on the Guns tab - some national guns have unique versions for only some eras. Generally I created unique turrets for the British, Germans, and Americans, because many nations used versions of these turrets. I did create some unique main gun French turrets for the Victorian and Pre-dread eras but not for later eras. Most smaller guns use the same model for most eras. This was primarily a time issue. To create a complete set of turrets for every nation, every era and every gun size would be a massive undertaking.

Heard from discord that the IFM is the fleet size modifier for each country.

IFM is starting fleet size, yes. I think 'default' is 10, so 5 would give you half the usual starting fleet.
