I wrote a mod manager for RTW2 (it's at github.com/cabalamat/rtmods ). I'll probably write one for RTW3 (once I get it working, it's now downloading).
It would be nice to have all the mods in one place, easily installable (especially on top of each other) and have the ability to return the game to its pristine state.

I was just thinking "it would be great if someone could convert that modmanager to RTW3"...and now I see your post! That would be great if you could convert it!

Any progress on this? Working on an extended modding tool and I may just incorporate a manager at some point if this is not in the pipeline soon.

I've not started working on it yet.
I'd like to ask the devs whether it is possible to move the game to a new directory tree and execute the program from there (like you can with RTW2)?
If that is the case I can use the same design as my RTW2 mod manager. If not I can't.

Probably JSGME would work, although I'm not a big fan of it since it isn't open source nor is it properly documented.
