So I had a battle in the area of Helgoland Blight in the 1929. Now I tried to find their carriers first but failed. Now I had a report that put them just off the coast of the northern shore of Neatherlands. So naturally thats where I sent my strike. It is only afterward that I learn that they are instead in my port of Emden. Which is strange because I can't get inside their port areas due to "minefields." So anyway I used my battleships to sink 2 CVs and 3CVLs since they had no where to run and used the island as a shield against torpedoes while I pounded them to dust in a situation that should've never happened to them.
On a second note, there is an unrelated, kind of, suggestion. The ability to redirect strike via radio. I know this was done a couple of times in WW2 and it would've been extremely helpful here. Consider implementing it.

The blue area preventing players from getting close to AI ports is to prevent 'camping' and to give AI ships some chance to reach port if Player forces are chasing them.
When you are defending, the AI isn't so restricted, but all those red blobs on your screen are your minefield - notice how they can cluster around your ports? So too for the AI, so the blue ring does indeed protect your forces.
