I also noticed that the ship design files show both versions without the protected cruiser box checked. How important is this? Should the box be checked? The Naniwa was a second class protected cruiser according to Brassey's of the period. Yes, about half of the protected cruisers in the game don't have this checkbox and don't have belt protection (armored deck slopes). Any hit in the engine room area leads to the destruction of engines. I corrected these moments in my modification of the ships models. Be aware, protected cruisers did not have belt armor, just deck, conning tower and turret armor.

Of course you are right. But in SAI termins the belt armor and protected cruiser checkbox in the ShipDesigner represent the protection of the engines room by armored deck slopes.

As stated in the other thread, I am sorry to admit that the missing belt armor on some ships is a bug.
A protected cruiser should have:
a) Belt armor set to the sloped portion of the deck. b) The Protected cruiser box checked. This makes the program treat them as having no belt for waterline and above hits, but the armor will still protect the engine rooms and deeper parts of the hull.

In 1.62 version strange graphic effect is observed - batteries change their form between rectangular and square, here is screenshot in process: Attachment DeletedSeems that this happen when enemy ships see them (appeared 2 times during enemy bombardment missions). Bezymiannaya 9-inch batteries in Vladivostok can fire of only 2 guns instead of 4 due to wrong rotation. Also minefield bug: Attachment DeletedAttachment DeletedThe longest minefield in the world Moreover, it actually passes through the Earth. Have save, if needed. (This bug was presented in 1.60 version, I forgot to inform about it, but now decide to report, as didn't see it in changelog) . Saw the same bug in SAI CE WWI 1.40 and before, but forgot to save. Fortunately, it is very rare - during year of playing it appeared only nearly 3 times. Except these, all seems work fine. Thanks for update!

D'oh!
Nice catch, the batteries are 180 degrees out of alignment. For the next update.
Thanks.

Yes, this is a display bug. They are displayed as the enemy would see them, but it will not affect gameplay. Will fix for next update.

Unfortunately it is very hard to track down.
Thanks for the feedback!

New couple of spottings: After mission ended, I saw that Japanese failed 20000 VP mission (so it was transport or blockship mission) After studying tracks I think it was convoy mission to Pitzuwo, but for some reason it was not completed, maybe as ships sail to the port before reaching mission point. Please check my suspicions. Track end: Attachment DeletedSavegame: Attachment DeletedAttachment DeletedAlso after this mission I got message about 2-nd Pacific Squadron. I decided to send all available forces to Far East, but didn't see Oleg and old CA's on reinforsments screen. Maybe it's because I didn't turn Aurora to Baltic at the beginning of campaign?

Yes, you are correct, it seems the Japanese had a convoy mission to Pitzuwo but the ships entered port before the objective could fire. I will fine tune this so it won't happen again. Good catch!
Yes you are correct, the Cruiser division with Oleg and Vladimir Monomakh is incorrectly missing for the Russian reinforcements.
Will correct this for the next update. If you want to correct your ongoing campaign, you can edit the .sca file and change the Reinforcement value for Oleg and Monomakh to the same as the rest of the Baltic reinforcements.
Thanks for the report!

Thanks for the report! Thanks for your answer! I now found how to fix this in .crf until future update Another question after watching game files: am I correct, that if player declined to send part of Oslyabya's force to Far East at the beginning of game, he will never get chance to call them again? (Personally I always send home old slow Dmitri Donskoi, and she doesn't appear in reinforcement list later).

The intention is that they should come in as reinforcements at the same time as the other Baltic reinforcements.
BTW I usually do the same with the Dmitri Donskoi, she is too old and slow.

They seem wouldn't come. In .csa save file Dmitri Donskoi reinforcement value is very different from others. After 2-nd Squadron events: Dmitri Donskoi: Ship0Reinforcement=91509 2-nd Squadron itself: Ship0Reinforcement=1958 Now started new campaign to check other members of Oslyabya's squadron, declined to send them to Far East immediately, for now situation looks similar for all them. I can't find events which may change reinforcement value after 2-nd Squadron call. As I recognised after experiments, this value is number of day, when ship appears in game, so reinforcements will come in too distant future (kind of time machine? Would be glad to mistake

It seems the Dalny and PA surrender events still have issues. The zip file attached has a sequence of saves starting on 5-18-04, when I got the "Dalny Falls" notice. The 6-15-04 save shows the overlapping ownership- I have a base with Russian divisions showing up. After PA fell 11-30-04, I got "ship missing from repair list" for a slew of Russian ships that scuttled upon the fall of PA. Got some "Ships of x organization fled to Dalny" notifications in the turn log as well. During the scenario turn, the formerly-Russian shore facilities are in the Combined Fleet OB. This is combined with other weird effects, like blue flags on Japanese ships, triplicate divisions and one save (errordeploy) had no ships or shore commands at all. I have a slew of other saves in addition to these, but I didn't save under any system, just 'sdjd.sav' typed to escape a corrupted scenario. Attachment Deleted

To fredsanford. Was that campaign started before the last update? The fix to that problem involved some data changes in the campaign, and data of already started campaigns will not be affected by the update.

Generated battles sometimes have very strange flagships. For example, a recent RJ 1904-05 generated battle created a large Russian battleline but the fleet flagship was a CL out of sighting range in a scouting position.
