Quite amazing ships but nothing during WWII had such amount of armor... The closest was the Yamato with an impressive 410mm side armor and 660mm on turret face (still the turret sides dropped down at 250mm). Which RTW can't simulate as turret are one piece and not divided in front/sides/back/top.

Yeah, that's the way I always understood armor to work in RTW - that it's not actual thickness but Krupp equivalent that's being measured. The reverse also applies to early game ships, where 7" in game terms actually represents 12" of inferior quality armor. So I definitely wouldn't take that number literally!

the submarine spam is indeed getting outta hand:X
war with france who has 200+ subs. 6 months in and unrest level shoots to 10. with me having 150+ subs meself, plus 40 MS and 40AMC doing ASW all the time. (the latter doesn't seem to have much if any effect) eventually french government collapse after suffering major capital ship loss in a fleet battle but i was at unrest 8 so not so far behind.
deleted the last 2 research levels in submarine research.. will see. Japan atm has 250+, gonna go pick a fight.

bwahahaha! so.. laying down a new "ultra" dread! woot! and the template is from BB New Mexico, so i thought, better find a German American to name it. got on wiki, "list of German Americans", Military, search anything "naval", and at the end of the list, Elmo.. Zumwalt!! the 2nd ship of the class shall be named Schneider, in honor of the Schneider cup air races in the early 19xx..
