Well, destiny calls and war with USA broke out on 1942 on second trip to 1950.
Or... "Relax Luther. It's much worse than you think."
On this playthrough I never reset the economic modifiers, so USA keeps his monstrous economy growth. I'm not sure this rate of growth can be surpassed with winning wars, but will see.
USA is on: 100mil base resource; has 28 BBs and 21 BCs.
I am on 74mil base resource; has 8 BBs and 10 BCs.
Need to protect 3 seazones: Northern Europe, the Caribbean, SE Asia, plus West Africa, Indian Ocean and NE Asia against the US capital ship world roaming. Plus via a foreign policy screw up the US somehow got a foothold in West Africa. Yep this is gonna be very fun.. not.
Good thing the 70k ton ships make things much easier because now I have more of them, on bigger displacements I will likely have 2 to 4 less.
Opening move is basically 2 way splitting the fleet. USA sent 8 BBs and 2 BCs to Northern Europe so all the BBs stay plus 4 BCs. 6 BCs go to the Caribbean. I'm not sending any capital ships to SEA atm but will see if US send anything major that way, and would follow his moves to at least prevent an invasion. Currently 3 CAs at West Africa, 2 CAs at Indian Ocean, 4 CAs at SEA. NEA, Northern Europe, the Caribbean, the Mediterranean each has 2. Will keep 2 in a seazone minimum and adjust based on enemy strength - again to prevent invasions.
Got 11 CLs. 2 to Indian Ocean to boost points there. 5 stay at N. Europe and 4 to the Caribbean. Got 55 DDs. 27 old ones to the Caribbean and the 28 2100 tonners stay at home.
Neither of us has sub numbers that's worth mentioning, 41 vs 24.
