1942, Amalgamated Soviet Socialist Federated Republics, The Kremlin.
Relations between the old Imperial empires of Europe and the new regimes in Europe had been steadily worsening ever since both the mighty German empire and the Russia had gone down in revolution in the period 1908-1910. This had culminated in a series of strategically inconclusive, but tactically crushing wars between the ASSFR (Amalgamated Soviet Socialist Federated Republics) and the French in the period between 1919 and 1932 that left most of the Marine Nationale's Capital ships sitting at the bottom of the Baltic. Just after the last war the ASSFR created the Anti-Oppressor Bloc with the GISSR (German Imperial Soviet Socialist Republic). The British Imperialists responded to the signing of the Anti-Oppressor Bloc by signing a treaty of their own with the French. Immediately tensions between the two power blocs took a turn for the worse with war hovering like the specter of death on the horizon throughout the late 30's into the early 40's, before finally culmination in a fateful decision made based on a conversation in the Kremlin late in the day of 27th January 1942. The evening strategic briefing was about to conclude when General Secretary Trotsky turned to Comrade Grand Admiral Dmitriov Petrovich and asked the fateful question: "Comrade, in your judgment with the assistance of out allies can the Soviet Workers Navy take on the Reactionary Bloc in an naval war?" Dmitriov paused for a moment before responding "Yes comrade we can, I caution, it will not be a quick or easy fight."
10 days from that brief back and forth the Anti-Oppressor Bloc declared war on the British and French empires under the official Casus Belli of removing the Imperialists from their undue positions of economic dominance.

Note 2: I do plan on releasing an update with my ships tomorrow (Sunday), then the first gameplay in about 2 weeks due to having to write 2 4k word papers
