1)I wish this forum had spoilers... these huge pictures make reading worse and worse maybe by raising a restriction of only links to pictures it can be helped? 2)all these designs seem so... boring I'm continuosly hitting my head on the wall for not reserving the shipyard slot beforehand... So many unused trickes! Such absence of advertisment!

So wait, how do these ship designs get in the save? Do you replicate them from the pictures? Is the save file sent to people who send back designs? Are the designs sent in files themselves?

And yes I agree the nws forum doesn't have the best layout for this, but the pictures are needed and it is free for all as opposed to the SA forum. Other design competitions will probably be more compact as they won't deal with all types of ship, probably just one or two. And my CA design isn't boring, tho I will conceded my B is, but that is to be expected with a 13000 ton B design. Toyed with low freeboard, but for USA that would be two risky I think.

Dude if you want in, join one of the shipyards. Well, I need time for reorganisation. But for the next competition, I'll look for an employment. Just stop inserting images and leave them as links to imgur/photobucket/etc. Bs and other huge designs have an ace in the sleeve, which I'll use on my entry.

As someone who read a lot of AARs one of the most irritating things is to have to click on something to go view the images relevant to it, hence why inserting images is important, either thru Photobucket or as attachments.

Revised my designs to comply with the specifications set forth.
I'd like to hear comments on the CL and DD designs...

zardoz: (and before everyone starts including MS designs in here) Although I'll be using minesweepers for CP, they won't be seeing much action (fortunately: with their 200 tonnes, they'll probably get eaten alive by a DD) so I didn't think you'd need to be bothered with them. Still, thanks for the thoughtful inclusion! konstantinua00: Yeah, it was a kind of spur-of-the-moment thing for me. As you can read on the first post, I expected something to the tune of like 3 or 4 Shipyards / Designers tops - if at all - and all this interest really tickles me pink. Reading the Noname117's comment, I belatedly realized a way to correct a glaring flaw of mine: total lack of graphical design ability. So, any Designer / Shipyard entering the Competition may also attach (zipped) Design files, with their own top and side view graphics, which will be included in the game - if the Design wins, naturally. Please note that attaching the Design files (with or without the graphics) is not compulsory - I'm perfectly capable of copying the Design from the picture alone - it's here merely for the sake of including all the pretty pictures. Cheers!

Attention all Shipyards!
Since everyone has, by now, submitted at least one (1) Design (and due to the great interest in the game) the Admiralty hereby wishes to announce that the final Design submission date for the First Competition: Legacy Fleet is now officially moved to 18:00 hours (GMT) on April 13th.
Thank you!
Note: With over 24 hours still to go, there is enough time, IMHO, to amend your Designs - should you wish to do so.

theexecuter : Browsing your Designs, I ran into a comment of yours to the effect that it's impossible to move short-ranged ships between home areas. I nearly panicked, thinking my entire strategy for this game is going to go into wastebasket & set up a small game. In short: yes, it is possible for short-ranged ships to move between home areas of the map during the war - and you're quite free to Design them. It'd be great if ya can share what kinds of situations these ships will be in... Like what is ur playstyle? Aggressive and close? elusive long range only? do u employ flotilla attacks often? do u force engagements in the rain or at night? when out numbered do u fight on or do u run away? when badly damaged do u go home or sink the enemy who's also badly damaged? when the enemy runs away, do u go for prolonged stern chases, or disengage? do u play on admiral or rear admiral mode? .. But any info would be great! Strategically is there a likely first opponent, and probable 1st war scenario? do u plan to fight wars as often as possible or just let the robust economy grow, with a few wars in-between? do u intend to take colonies from war victories, or use war vic as economy bumps? Do u intend to stay at home, or expand to europe, or expand to asia, or some other plan.. Any info would help. Operationally, do u build/focus more B/BBs or BC/CAs. do u mass build MS or do u use DDs for CP. do u scrap old big ships often or delegate them to 2nd line duties. How much do you mothball/RF in peacetime.. Anything u can share would be great. lastly do u have personal preference in the ships, speed/firepower/protection which aspect do u favor more in a capital? ya know torpedos/guns which dya like more on a DD? speed or firepower for a CL? basically, i think more info can help us. thnx in advance!!
