I didn't think it would be such a scandalous observation that we might actually be working on the DLC.... Anyway, looks like we have a volunteer for a cleaning of a whole flight deck... *laughs in USS Gerald R. Ford*

This battle deserves more than a brief note in the Humor thread.
Ok, so it is 1919 and I have my first fleet action with the dreadnoughts, against the French. Unfortunately the scenario begins at dusk, so given how I lost the biggest battle of the previous war with the French (don't ask) I immediately decide to disengage and just call it a day. My ACs however are in the van operating as Independent and the turnabout is not clean. In a messy 90 minutes there are a flurry of torpedo hits and explosions, and my cruisers depart southwesterly in a disorganized mess. Ah nuts, thinks me, that will cost me. Ah well, better than getting my dreadnoughts torpedoed.
I retired the fleet W/SW. But you see that northwards turn? I could have accomplished my goals and exited the scenario if I had just let it go. But no, thinks I, that's not realistic. I should have the fleet turn for the Irish passage. AND LOOK WHAT HAPPENED!! I was broken away from my coffee by gunfire at dawn. The French had actually correctly maneuvered to cut off my egress. 350 miles from where we started.
Despite having the bulk of my escorts already crippled and picking their way home I managed to give more than I got and the day-long engagement ended in a decisive victory, but this is just Charlie Brown luck.

I assume JFL, JFH and JA I can see in the aircraft losses screen are "Jet Fighter Light", "Jet Fighter Heavy" and "Jet Attacker"?

Japan was where I first had the first gen dreadnoughts of 1899 rebuilt half as 2 of 1 gun 16" turrets and the other half as ~16 torpedo planes. This was the desperate use of the only, or nearly only, large ships afloat in my navy of many wars. It worked. The 16" "double monitors" were able to lure the attention of the enemy gun line into long range exchanges which was mostly making both of us miss. The disabling power came from the 32 to 64 torpedo planes from multiple B>CVL conversions.
If you've got the torpedo technology you can face off with 1/2 to 1/3 the enemy BB numbers >if< you focus on keeping them busy and lining them up for coming at you. Then when you snap charge the DDs their own 25+ knots adds to the ~30 knots of the DD making it a ~55 knot closing rate.
Rule the Waves in the different nations does lead to exploring different pathways for a navy with their not being one absolute... other than a horde of coastal subs possible with surface raider additions.
