Do you still have space for one more? Your appointment to the Head of the Admiralty should be signed off in 1945

Ah that is a brilliant read Good luck, and I hope 5 years is long enough to implement some changes, but we know it is not enough for all of them

Pictures are fixed. hopefully the pre-read pics will give a better idea of what I was starting with, so you can see how the mediocre state of the current french navy is, I believe, a serious improvement.

I have never clicked the Resign button in RTW. The closest I ever got was when I first opened the file prior to my tenure. I would have abused the war with germany for a rather long time to have an amazing budget, but unfortunately, my predecessors managed to get unrest to 7 before sending the file to me. I have never had my unrest surpass 4, and that was in a war where I was losing for nigh on 30 years. I have literally no idea how my predecessors managed to put me in such a horrific position. It was once more a first for me. It was the first time I ever actually ended a war of my own accord.

In terms of the unrest im not entirely sure what happened because it just jumped up rather quickly. I just assumed with was because I was playing France and the people really don't like it when war is going on. I did do a recording of 4yrs of my play through however the audio isn't overly good and I've never really done a recording before so it was a learning thing for me. On top of this my youngest child was home sick that day so I was more distracted then I wanted to be but those are the joys of being a parent. www.youtube.com/watch?v=KFUGKLBQTEUIf you want to have a look at the recording

Thanks.

Do you still have space for one more? Your appointment to the Head of the Admiralty should be signed off in 1945 Nice, however I will be away Sun to Thursday. So if you're left waiting someone can take my place.

Just had my first battle with Austria in 1920 and wrote the battlereport: nws-online.proboards.com/post/50477/threadAfter the battle I noticed that it was set to captains mode. I actually prefer this, but remember that admirals mode was mentioned in this thread. Are those settings not saved within the savegame? I guess I should change it before the next battle?

Yes, it should be changed so that you have the same experience as the rest of us. Don’t worry, you’ll still control your flag division, and the AI can be surprisingly competent.

My main issue with Admirals mode is, that flooding ships are doomed even if I order a complete stop of the entire fleet. If they have a supporting role set, they will just circle around my flag ship at full speed until they sink. After writing this, I tried Admirals mode again in one of my saves for the first time since RTW 1. My supporting/screening vessels did not behave like the enemy fleets. They just stayed in a fixed relative position to my main division and stubbornly stayed their course, even though they were now 5000 yards away from the whole enemy battleline and were being shot to pieces.
Is that buggy behaviour or does that sound normal for people playing admiral mode?
Next, I ll probably try giving the AI full control of my forces, test how that goes.

It sounds right if you weren’t adjusting their role. If you left them on screen or support, that’s exactly what they tend to do. You should set them to independent when the enemy gets close, so they can perform their own interception duties. What they do is also heavily affected by your fleet tactics research.

My tenure is soon coming to an end. A battle every month really takes a lot of time. And I won't be able to leave a modern, balanced fleet to my successor :
Warspite I ll be done on wednesday at the latest, if you want to read up to current events.
edit: Took me some time to figure out that you were meant and that I had to use "imperator" and not "warspite" for the referencing. edit2: And after saving the post, "imperator" is changed to "Warspite" with a capital "W" by the forum software. edit3: Oh and in the list you are also incorrectly linked, so, surprise, you are next as head of French navy from 1925-1929! If you want.
