Option for **** x 768 friendly interface please! (Same with regular SAI & Campaign) Some screens, like the ship design screen, are already quite crowded and it would be hard to make them smaller. That said I have played it on 1024 x 768 at I found no major problems. What screens do you have problems with? It's mainly the fact that the game does not 'remember' where the player positioned/re-centred the various windows from session to session. Once the player has the interface set up as he/she wants it (e.g. full screen, ships/possessions window resize etc...etc), and has re-centred all the in-game pop-up windows then this (very minor) problem disappears. x768 has just enough on-screen 'real estate'....but returning to the game you have to start re-arranging things again. Like I said, it's barely a niggle and I'm really enjoying RTW.

Do you think an increase in naval sectors would like?

Ability to turn off smoke (just visually - not the effect of it) and/or change its color.
A button to instantly go to player's preferred battle zoom level/game speed.
Assignable keys.

Another cosmetic detail that might help is to add a bit more fanfare at the end of the game. It would be nice to see a summary screen comparing your navy and its war record against the other navies when the time expires rather than just your prestige ranking, kind of like the detailed summary following the tactical battles. I was playing Italy last night and lost track of time in my eagerness to complete a dreadnought (clicking the turn button like mad) and poof, the game was over and I couldn't even review my fleet, the considerable colonial possessions I had accumulated, or check the almanac. It would also be nice to have the fog of war go away at the end of the game so we can explore the map and compare our fleet with what the AI had built and check other nation's tech levels, etc. I am aware that these kinds of details are low on the priority list compared to fixing bugs or adding to the game play itself but even a list of battles and enemy ships destroyed to augment the list of our ships lost would be nice. That said, even though I was slightly disappointed by the lack of fanfare, I immediately started another game

Ability to have ships updated to newest version while they are still being built. Similarly to how fire control is being updated in the yard, adding time depending on how close to completion the ship is. Right now ships have to go out into the fleet and then immediately back into refit, even if you designed the refit a month after ordering them...

Can see it might be a lot of work to program but it might be an option for the player to seek to refit ships under construction. Clearly the player will need to be careful otherwise there is the danger that nothing ever gets completed and it will add cost.

As an improvement to the ship designer, how about a button in the designer that displays the firing arcs of the main turrets? It'd be useful for both designing ships and for knowing how steep an oblique angle one can approach a target while maximizing firepower. It would also assist in drawing pretty and correct superstructures.

Remove the ability to ' end game'.... ....without consequences. As it is now the player can simply 'vanish' from the battlefield if it becomes clear they are out-numbered/out-gunned. If the player does not want to manually fight it out or attempt an escape then perhaps an abstracted battle calculation based on forces present could be performed instead? Also, the ability to start a fight from 'map details' pop-up. It's much easier than fishing through the map-tree. Something like this.....

I had an interesting idea for coastal artillery. Historically it was often repurposed guns pulled off obsoleted ships, why not when you scrap a ship make an option to build a much cheaper fort of the same size caliber as the ships main guns?

Three things, first it would save frustration on the build ship/rebuild ship screen if only options that are available to your country are selectable.
Second, set out strategic/operational objectives for the navy IE engage in fleet battles, avoid small engagements, or vice versa. Or even go capture X colony of your enemies.
Third, if I or the AI doesn't have a force at a colony nothing happens in that area. As Germany I can dictate what the level of conflict vs japan or the US by simply staying in northern Europe and avoiding the far east with no repercussions.

I agree it's the best of the three titles so far, because easily the most immersive. I'm having great fun with it. My suggestion may already have been mentioned in this thread, if so, sorry. I haven't read all the thread. I wonder if it's possible, developing it in future, to give us SAI-type campaigns once war breaks out? So that you get to run the thing a month at a time, choose which ships to activate etc, somewhat like in SAI and RJW? It works great as is, but it would be nice to have the option of more control over which forces you field etc also.
