Bombardment missions: Bombardment target is inside a mining zone that extends beyond the range of my largest ship's guns, and the movement AI won't let you risk it and blow into the mining zone ("damned the torpedoes", as it were) and bombard the target. How does one fulfill a victory condition of bombardment when the AI makes it impossible for you to do so? This will be addressed in 1.1.

I wonder if it would be possible to allow player-controlled squadrons to enter mined areas (at huge risk obviously) rather than having the ships 'bounce' off the zones as if they were coast-lines?

I hope that is what Fredrik meant when he said it would be fixed in 1.1.

How does one fulfill a victory condition of bombardment when the AI makes it impossible for you to do so? You turn around and sail back the way you came. Alternatively, you go hunting around for the enemy fleet. The objectives in a bombardment mission are worth approximately 1 destroyer sunk.

Ultimately, that is what I did.
