New turret rebuild error for CV conversions

Hello, I am trting to convert a BB to a CV in the mid twenties, since its the first CV in this save it has gun caliber requirements but every time I try to meet them I get a rebuild error for adding a new main battery turret. Any work arounds?

If you're trying to install 6" guns, use single mounts with at most 2" / 2" armor.

Alternatively, use 7" - 10" guns instead, even though the first carrier's armament requirement is only 8x6" if 20,000 tons or less.
