Quick Question about superstructure designing.

Am I correct in assuming that the cosmetic superstructure design you draw out has no actual effect on the game? It doesn't make the superstructure more/less likely to be hit or potentially block the field of fire of guns?

I assume its completely cosmetic, but I just want to be sure.
