Sometimes I need to build 40 or 50 coastal subs at once. That's not that much money for later in the game, but it sure does take a lot of clicks when you can only build ten at a time. Please change it so we can build more per single order. Thanks!

Honestly not sure why the 10 limit is still there - will post this in the internal suggestions list.

Please change it so we can build more per single order. Thanks! The design and building of any ship, especially submarines requires manpower, technical capability and the necessary shipyards with slips to accommodate; plus the economic capability to build a quantity of submarines. Geopolitics will play a part. Each nation will be different. I believe that the number should be calculated based on the factors I have expressed at the beginning. Do we want realism or fantasy? Counterfactual history is very interesting provided the "path not taken" is based on a realistic assessment of each nations capability. Now before any of you try to use Germany in WW2 as an example. The Germans had 19 yards in 11 cities, but they were not building any other ships in quantity, so those yards were available to build submarines. If you want to build a balanced fleet with a complete set of warships, plus submarines, then you probably will not have the shipyards, money or supplies to do it. The Germans were able to build one or two U-boats per month in all 19 years, but again, they weren't building any other ships and this was after the war started between 1939 and 1943. So, if you can put together the funding, materials, workers, and transportation, to 10 shipyards, you might be able to complete 10 boats per month... maybe. Good Luck.

Now before any of you try to use Germany in WW2 as an example. They were able to produce about 9.7 submarines over a ten year period. Clearly 9.7 is a typo, but I'm not seeing your point whatever number you were looking for. During the 5-1/2 years of the war Germany built more than 1,100 subs, what is the problem with building lots larger than 10?

The 9.7 was my calculations based on total number of submarines produced in the period. If the members want a count of 10 in one click, so be it. I don't really care. I just want realism.

I want as much realism as possible as well, but I think your calculations are fishy and your objection flawed. Germany built somewhere around 1150 U-boats (every source I look at gives a slightly different number) during WW2. If you wanted to build 1150 coastal submarines (which is not representative of what they actually built) during a 70 month time frame (which is longer than they had) in the game, you would have to build 5 consecutive lots of 230 boats. 230>10.

We all have our own ideas. My comments and thoughts are built upon studying U-boat construction and German War Economics. I leave it to the game designers.

Well, if you really wanna do the math... if you've got 70 months and you need the subs to all be finished by month 70, you can't be building any past month 56 or they won't be finished in time. So you need to build 20.5 per month. There will be 28 months of overlap with 266 U-boats under concurrent construction. For practical purposes, I don't build subs every month. I go months sometimes a year and then BAM build like 50 or 60 at a time. I don't like the interface limiting me to 10 per build order. PITA.

I balance my submarine construction with my surface ship construction until I get medium range, then I try to get at least five per month depending on the country. I balance my funding.

But... 5x14=70. Am I missing something? Yup. Except nope. They don't have to be completed by month 56. You are leaving 14 months on the table. 70 wasn't some arbitrary number pulled out of thin air, it's exactly the time required to build 5 lots of coastal subs.

i often find myself if building subs to build more than 30 at a time this would be highly desired
also while we are at it can we also mention how we cant build more than 12 ships at once
this is particulairly annoying on fleet sizes above 7 and when you need to make 40+ minelayers

Not my fault that schools started teaching students how to pass standardized tests instead of actually teaching. Here's a simple If/Then for you to figure out that they probably didn't cover when you were taught in school. If a submarine takes 14 months to complete and you start building one during month 57, and the war ends during month 70, then will it be completed before the war is over?
