Allow for more configurations of legacy pre-dreads. I have the following propositions, similarly to how 11 in CA is still a CA if it matches a set of criteria, the (legacy) Bs should be able to have more configurations than just the twin/single AY (French pre-dreadnoughts instensify). I propose the following:
1. As long as the total main battery guns is 4 or less, allow main battery mounts in casemates or single mounts in midship wing positions. Example of a configuration this would allow is a 4x1 AHIY main battery. 2. As long as the total main battery guns is 2 or less, allow secondary battery larger than 7 in, as long as all of the following is true: secondary battery is mounted in casemates or single mounts and has a maximum of 2 guns. Example of configuration this would allow: 2x1 12 in guns AY, 2x1 11 in gun secondary - I think closest we can get to Charles Martel-style setup
I am emphasizing the word LEGACY predreads as these configurations are possible in the game when you get the tech for wing turrets and larger secondaries. The techs do make sense, but in my opinion it would make sense to make the limited exception for the legacy predreads, as proposed above. The designs this would allow would be neither overpowered nor too technologically advanced (the mentioned Charles Martel was completed 1893). I think it would be a fun addition for those of us who like playing with pre-dreads, play on lowered tech speed or want to RP having French-style designs in our legacy fleets.
