Addition to Elouda's guide: If you want to change only part of superstructure (bridge, for example), but don't know what is its number, check or uncheck "Line" area for suspected part's number and then update ship graphic.

Does the superstructure you draw have any practical effect on the design of the ship -- increased weight, decreased speed due to aerodynamic drag, etc.? Or is it purely aesthetic, to create a more pleasing image in the design view?

Elouda is correct, the superstructure design is for visual/aesthetic purposes, no real game affects that I recall.

I sometimes mess up and forget to complete the superstructure on my ships, and then there is no way to change it without a Rebuild. Wish there was a better way to fix that.

Would be good if we could access the superstructure drawing from the profile drawing part of the program. It's a bit of a pita that we can only build the profile after a ship is building. Makes lining up the deck plan and the profile a pain.

I let the legacy fleet to be built automaticallly. This is 01/1900, i did nothing in the game.
When I click on "view data", it shows that the ship has director.
When I click on "rebuild ship", it says it has no fire control. Attachments:

3) Which is "better", an 11 inch gun (rated 0) or a 12 inch gun (rated -1). I'm guessing the advantage to the 12 inch gun is range. Any other advantages? When you're in the ship designer, there's a button in the main armament section called "gun data". Click that, and you'll see the range and the belt/deck penetration at a list of ranges. Numbers vary, but the gaps between 0 and -1 for smaller calibres can be pretty reasonable (particularly as the smaller calibres are lighter). In my last game, I had -1 15" and 16", and build 16" gunned ships, but once I had 15" guns rated 0, it made more sense to build them, as the stats were similar (just a teensy bit less penetration), but you could fit more barrels on. Great write-up there Elouda. I draw most of them m'self as well. I wish there was a way to hold down alt to lock the line to the nearest 45 degree angle or similar....
