Allow Aircraft Manufacturers to have characteristic modifiers for plane attributes. You'd get planes made by manufacturers that you'd know were better at something. Like in the below example, Grumman would be known for faster planes that had a little less reliability and firepower. Boeing would be known for their bomb carrying prowess but be a little slower, Martin would be known for their firepower at the expense of speed and range and Lockheed would be tough and reliable at the expense of maneuverability or whatever. For example, add a list of characteristics from 3 to -3 (or whatever) after each manufacturer in the ShipNames.dat that correspond to plane attributes: max cruise, cruise, range Lt, range Med, range Hvy, firepower, maneuverability, toughness, lt bomb, med bomb, hvy bomb, reliability. [/span] Boeing mc-1, c-1, rl0, rm0, rh0, f0, m0, t0, lb1, mb1, hb1, r0 Martin mc-1, c-1, rl-1, rm-1, rh-1, f3, m0, t0, lb0, mb0, hb0, r0 Lockheed mc0, c0, rl0, rm0, rh0, f0, m-2, t1, lb0, mb0, hb0, r1 Vought North American Republic Douglas Curtiss Consolidated Brewster [/ul] It would be backwards compatible for mods and prior versions because if no characteristic modifiers are added to the ShipNames.dat after a manufacturer name, then there are no changes. So in the above example, Vought on down to Brewster would have no modifiers.
