Not sure where this bug lies here or with Win10
On my new gaming laptop when I minimize RTW2 I can never get it back on the screen. On the taskbar there is the screens but it doesn't come back that way. Using alt-tab to scroll over to the RTW2 screen* also doesn't get it back.
The RTW2 screen shown appears to be the post-DRM startup screen with the picture of the fleet, plane taking off and such buttons as "Continue".
Sometimes Im multi tasking or think to do some writing. If I quickly hop to another screen for that and didn't save the game Im a little miffed at having to back up a bit. Im pretty good on saving so for the time being I just relaunch the game.

Press Shift+Control and then right-click on its icon on the taskbar and select restore or maximize. You can also use Win_M and then Win+Shift+M to min and max the windows.

Did see movement in the other windows on screen. (Ps. thanks for that Win_M tip as it has uses) IIRC previous when I minimized the RTW taskbar icon would have two (2) little windows one being the splash screen and the other the game/battle. I think what is happening is that the game/battle is closed not minimized. Im not sure how to diagnosis that further. Perhaps if there was an entry to look for in the task manager I can check to confirm if its closing not minimizing.

You might try running the System File Checker and see if there are some corrupted files. BTW, you are not the only one having this problem. I play RTW in a virtual window, which eliminates the problem.

Has 2 accounts the one Im using says admin and another guest one (setup by default). <insert $*@$*@#( comments about Im the owner and only user of the laptop so I should already be the admin but its not respecting my authority> I wonder if installing RTW2 as admin might help with this.

Every once in a while I've gotten myself into a situation where the RTW window gets shrunk down into as small a window as possible: just a titlebar with just enough space for the window controls in one corner of the screen. Clicking the maximize button (once I've found the window!) solves the issue.

Clicking the maximize button (once I've found the window!) solves the issue. Indeed this ^^. I've also noticed that since I have my status bar set to retract (automatically hide), sometimes it actually covers the RtW2 titlebar in the bottom left. It doesn't happen very often, and now that I know what's happening, I can find it by clicking on the desktop to make the status bar retract. Before I figured it out though, it was a problem.

errg... still struggling with this.
after minimizing I moved the task bar to different docking positions to see if the tiny window explanation was active but didnt see it.
Ive got this other wierd thing where if I minimize RTW2 then move the mouse over the taskbar icon the full game appears BUT, and huge but, even if I click on it as soon as I move the mouse off the taskbar area the RTW screens disappeared
Win_M and Win_shift_M also still not getting the game screens playable.

when you minimize RtW it places an icon on the bottom left of the screen
however if your scaling is set to greater than 100% (which is normal on laptops) that icon will appear off screen
go to settings/display and layout - set your scale to 100%, go to the desktop, maximize RtW, then go back to settings and reset your scale back to what it was
