I know that 1970+ isn't anywhere within the scope of the game, but I want to know why have the hard cut off date specifically at 1970 and not just infinite, perhaps with a message in 1970 saying "Hey we don't recommend playing past this point but you can if you want to" It feels a little like a slap in the face when I'm at a pretty nice place in the run and suddenly the hard cut off date kills it unceremoniously, it'd be really nice to at least get the chance to play beyond that point even if no new tech will develop and the game may become stagnant beyond that point (because playing for two hundred years in a game with content for fifty of those will get stale eventually).

Edit the save. The first line in the file is the current date, simply back it up 5 years if you aren't at a place you want to stop. Do so before the game ends or it gets more complicated.
