In another thread someone was unhappy about carrier strikes continuing to attack sinking ships, my response was that this is probably accurate (feature not bug😁) as aircrew could be pretty trigger happy.
Then I remembered about HMS Sheffield being attacked by RN Swordfish air strike that had been trying to find the Bismarck.
I don’t know how easy it would be to include such mistakes but they did happen fairly often.
I’ve often felt a pang of guilt when my aircrews perfectly identify and attack the enemy despite our ships being entwined in a melee
Just a thought
p.s. Love the game, please never sacrifice the detail for pretty graphics

I’d also like to see friendly fire incidents and maybe collisions between your own ships becoming a thing as well.

I’d also like to see friendly fire incidents and maybe collisions between your own ships becoming a thing as well. I’ve managed to torpedo my own ships😏, I think a torpedo is nobody’s friend once in the water. Friendly ship collisions are possible if both squadrons are directly controlled but if at least one is AI controlled I think it is reasonable to expect AI to avoid collisions (I also like that the game doesn’t let you be so dumb as to run ships aground). Ships never seem to fire until they’re sure of the target which can be frustrating when either: a) You’ve already identified the contact but moved out a bit during a turn so that the contact has become ‘unidentified’ despite being in the same place or b) You want to take the chance & shoot anyway (might turn out to be friendly but AI Controlled squadron) Not sure how hard that would be to incorporate

(I also like that the game doesn’t let you be so dumb as to run ships aground). There is actually a grounding event which can occur when ships enter port in darkness during a scenario. I believe there's also a collision event that can occur under similar circumstances if you have multiple ships entering the same port at more or less the same time.

Yes, I've occasionally encountered that. I should be more specific, I like that I can order a ship towards a shoreline and as it approaches it generally takes it as a 'stay close inshore' order rather than 'steer onto the beach'. This means that you don't need to constantly micromanage ships (as happens in some games), you can (usually) trust OOW to use a bit of sense ;o)
