Currently the invasion battle requires 4 of the # transports to get to the area
Sometimes I have killed them after their arrival.
Sometimes there is enough victory points to win the battle but with that whopping 75K for the invader that is hard to pull off, like if I sink several BC.
We dont have the details of the inner workings of the invasion.
I was thinking that we could add something of a half way state. If less than 4 TR were still alive at the end of the invasion mission the invasion starts but at a reduced level. Like they need a month of landing supplies before proceeding. A delay perhaps before continuing the invasion system.
This would also avoid that the moment the "invasion has started" message comes up we dont just bugger off from the fight. It was much more interesting gameplay to try to desperately do something about how many troops were being landed.
On a relate that 75,000 victory point really ought to be tweaked down. There is a secondary affect of the landing starting or not.

Losing all your transports should probably result in a failed invasion, whether they reached the objective or not. A lightly provisioned first wave with no following support or logistics will die on the vine.
