One of my German BC's just sighted an aircraft when approaching Kronstadt in 1915. What functionality do aircraft have in the game? Recon only? What does their density/range depend on? (Technology or Year) Wehre are the bases?

In SAI campaign air search areas are set out in the scenario file and give intelligence (usually wrong and delayed. I guess RTW works the same as the years progress.

It's one of them new fangled inventions. Probably just a trend. They'll never catch on or amount to anything.
Looks kind of like this:

Pssh, heavier than air flight! Ridiculous! If man had been meant to fly he'd been born with wings. You can't just strap some balsa wood to a bicycle and expect to fly like a bird, those Wright brothers are lunatics. No, balloons, that's the future! Also have the navy build a bunch more dreadnoughts, those will NEVER be obsolete.

Someday, one of these big balloons is going to go "poof" and that it will be it for the balloon idea. Naw, battlecruisers like the Invincible class, less armor, more speed. That's the way to go.
And to all of you who say, "we'll use helium". No you won't, only the US and Italy have helium. The Italian's get it from Vesuvius. HeHeHe!
