store.steampowered.com/app/887570/NEBULOUS_Fleet_Command/Fred, I hope you can partner with this guy! The combat of this 3d Space game is amazing. There are numerous really awesome youtube vids on it as well. If you were to combine it with the research, campaign and strategy aspects of your rule the waves games, you'd rule the galaxy!

I've been saying for years that all that RtW needs is a facelift and some name changes to turn it into a really terrific space-themed strategic game. In a much earlier post, that was completely ruled out however.

I know Fredrik at one point mentioned he would like to do a 'space theme' version of the RTW system, and I have an old writeup I did years ago for a sorta "WW2 in Space" game....perhaps one day they might meet...lol.

The game looks awesome and is overall an interesting concept. Nowhere near RTW as far as campaign yet. Nebulous is just a multiplayer demonstrator at this stage. AI charges at you and cheats (knows player ship locations).
Nebulous kinda reminds me of "Nexus: The Jupiter Incident" as far as tactical space combat but that game had a campaign, albeit a linear one.
Nebulous gameplay leads to very high level of work controlling ships and maintaining situational awareness, I've played it for ~20 hours and struggle to do everything even with only 2-3 ships. I don't think this concept would scale well to RTW like sizes due to the level of micromanagement involved.

No, it won’t scale to the levels of rtw. It handles smaller tactical concerns with crazy level of detail. Sometimes it’s slow and others the pace is so frenetic that your mind melts down. I really like this game. It’s incredible fun. The replay value is immense due to the way you can build whatever it is you want and try an entirely new approach. I’m finding, after some 30 hours of play, how things are meshing together. It’s a lot, but I just had my first multi team battle in an asteroid field and wow... just wow. williammiller. This is ww2 in space in 3D. You should absolutely give it a shot. I think it’ll inspire you for rtw or rtg.
