The game used to run perfectly fine, now it suddenly starts to run out of memory.
I run 64-bit Windows, 8gb RAM.
This game runs perfectly fine, but every time it's time to review the proposals for new aircraft, something happens and the game just freezes, RAM usage goes up, doesn't stop, and then it gives me an "Out of memory" error. Normally, nothing like this happens.
I'm running a few nation mods, but I doubt that's a problem.
I mean, this PC can run ArmA 3 with no issues.

The error message does not mean you are running out of memory, it means that the application has attempted to access a location in memory that is outside its sandbox or the area assigned to it. The game might need to be reloaded onto the hard disk. If you do, completely uninstall it, and do an error check of your hard disk to ensure that you did not load the game onto a bad spot on your hard disk. Also, run a disk cleanup then completely reinstall the game and see what is happening. If it works, then you are probably fine.

Because typically you'd get something about a segmentation fault or illegal memory access or something like that in that situation, not 'out of memory'.

None of what you suggested helped. This game shouldn't realistically be running out of memory. The only time it happens is when I get new proposals for aircraft. It ONLY happens then. It doesn't make any sense. Whenever this happens, RAM usage goes up to 95%, then drops as the game runs out of memory. It's ridiculous and makes my saves pretty much unplayable.

You could try adjusting your virtual memory i.e. the page file. If you go to system and security in control panel, run advanced system settings then click on system properties then performance, you can change the page file by clicking on advanced tab and examine the Virtual memory which is at the bottom. It probably says system managed and gives you the minimum allowed, recommended and currently allocated. You could adjust that to see if it helps. Its not hard to work with, I've done it when I ran servers for the government. Question: what version of the game are you running, 1.22 or 1.25? Try using 1.22 if you are running 1.25.

Please try running the game without any mods and let us know if you have the same issue. It is possible that mods can cause issues such as you describe if they are not coded properly, which is something outside our control.

I really don't want to waste a few hours getting to it just to see if it runs out of memory or not.

Here is some data on a game, Great Britain 1922 in Version 1.25. I do have some mods in place, but no error as you can see. Memory usage is still low. Reminder to everyone: If you can't duplicate a problem, you cannot fix it.

If you want to duplicate this problem, just run Hyper-V Manager and setup a Virtual machine, provide a name, setup the memory allocation and install Windows 10. Now install the game and run it. If it doesn't fail, keep reducing the virtual memory allocation until it does. It's a lot of work, so I would not try it unless you feel like playing.
